The Wylie Rotary Club held its Battle of the Badges Blood Drive this month, and the club received more units of blood than any previous year to date. The goal was 85 units and we had 95 units actually given. We had 114 attempts. Kassidie Menoni deserves a lot of credit as she stepped in and chaired this wonderful event.

The Wylie Police narrowly defeated the fire department by one vote to take home the trophy this year. Every year people are asked to vote for Wylie Police or Fire to show their support. City employees have been great in their support.

The club had the blood bus here in Wylie on July 10th, 16th, and 17th. It was the most blood given since we started hosting the blood drive, and rumor has it that Kassidie has even more great ideas for next year.

If you missed it on Friday, one of our very own members, who shall remain nameless, was seen wearing a blood drop mascot uniform and dancing on the side of the street. If you missed it, I am sure you will see photos posted soon, and there might even be a video floating around out their somewhere.
